Re-envisioning Our Future Together

As Fern Green Primary School celebrates its 7th year in 2024, we take this opportunity to reflect on our journey, marked by the graduation of two cohorts of students, and to chart a refreshed direction for the years ahead.  This initiative was informed by an in-depth analysis of educational trends, emerging national imperatives, and the evolving complexities of the world of work and society. Through surveys, discussions, and staff retreats, we gathered invaluable perspectives from FGians, staff, parents, and partners, ensuring that our refreshed vision, mission, and values reflect our shared aspirations.

Our New Fern Green Vision, Mission, and Values

After much thought and deliberation, we are proud to present Fern Green’s refreshed vision, mission, and values:

Mission: To nurture caring, innovative, and resilient lifelong learners who contribute as future leaders of the nation.

Our new vision encapsulates our aspiration to create a joyful, inclusive, and forward-looking school environment.  Our mission underscores our commitment to developing FGians who thrive in an ever-changing world.

Unpacking Our Vision

1. Joyful Learners

   • At the individual level: We aim to inspire curiosity and a love for learning in both our students and staff. When learning is enjoyable and meaningful, it motivates individuals to embrace lifelong learning.

   • At the school system level: Fern Green will continue to provide a nurturing, vibrant, and inclusive approach to education, aligned with MOE’s "Thinking Schools, Learning Nation" vision. This ensures that our practices support the national imperative of fostering lifelong learning.

2. Caring Leaders

   • At the individual level: Students and staff demonstrate strong character and are committed to caring for, empathizing with, serving, and leading others.

   • At the school system level: We will strengthen our total curriculum to enable students to be future-ready, equipping them with the competencies to contribute as future leaders of the nation.

3. Resilient Innovators

   • At the individual level: Students and staff display a growth mindset, adapt to adversity, and approach problems with creativity, perseverance, and positivity.

   • At the school system level: Fern Green promotes a culture of innovation and resilience that is forward-looking, drives continuous improvement, and responds effectively to the evolving needs of students and society.
