Providing timely feedback to students and parents
We monitor students’ learning through appropriate formal and informal methods so as to provide them with timely and useful feedback for improving learning and closing learning gaps. Some examples of how we use various assessment methods to monitor students’ learning include:
Method | Purpose |
---|---|
• Effective Questioning | Check understanding of skills/concepts taught |
• Rubrics/Checklist | Monitor progress against a set criteria, so as to provide useful feedback for improvement |
• Skills based assessment tasks (E.g. Reading Aloud, etc) | Monitor the mastery of skills |
Assessments are bite-sized so that they are manageable for the students and provide the students with a sense of achievement. Feedback is given to students and parents with the use of rubrics and remarks.
